Termites are one of the most destructive forces in nature. According to some estimates, termites cause $5 - $11 billion worth of damage each year in the U.S. alone. These silent invaders cause more damage than fires, storms and earthquakes combined. Homeowners insurance can help recover losses from these disasters, but insurance against termite damage is almost impossible.

Termites can be found in almost every state as well as Mexico and parts of Canada. In Tennessee, the Eastern Subterranean Termites is the most prevailing and widest distributed threat. They normally live below ground and may move up into a dwelling, damaging wooden support beams, cabinets, doors – all the way into attic structures.  Once in your dwelling, termites can actively feed on your home for three to five years before you know they are there.

Common Termite Entry Points

Termites primarily live in the ground. When we build a home, it is place over the termites’ habitat.  They search for cellulose based material/wood 24 hours/days per week, and when they find it, the damage starts.  Unfortunately, even the best built homes are not immune to termites.  They can enter your home in any crack that is 1/64th of an inch or larger - all the room they need to invade your walls, attic and other cellulose based structures.

How Bait Stations protect your home -

Bait System are installed around the outside perimeter of your home, roughly 8 – 10 feet apart. A piece of wood is placed in the station as a termite attractant.  No active termite protection agents are used.   Bait will not be added until there is termite activity in one or more of the stations. Yes, termites will still be damaging the home until the bait station feeds them enough bait, which can take months or years!

Termidor - Day 1 Termites wander into the Termidor zone and pick up the active ingredient. Already, some are "carriers” and are "transferring/infecting" others in the colony. Termites killing other termites!	Bait System - Day 1 No termites have wandered into the monitoring stations yet
Termidor - A Few Days Later Termidor has been transferred to many in the colony. Several hundred have already died, but the "Transfer Effect" continues to manifest – killing termites that have not touch the Termidor zone yet.	Bait System - A Few Days Later Still, there may be no termite activity in the stations. Just termites going between stations and/or eating your home.
Termidor - Within 3 Months - Typically, 100% Control! No more termites to damage your home. And the Termidor is still in the soil around & underneath your home providing protection against any new invading termite colonies.	Bait System - 3 Months If termites have found the monitors at this point, the technician will apply a bait killing agent.  However, the station needs to have sufficient termites, before employing any materials.
