Termites are one of the most destructive forces in nature. According to some estimates, termites cause $5 - $11 billion worth of damage each year in the U.S. alone. These silent invaders cause more damage than fires, storms and earthquakes combined. Homeowners insurance can help recover losses from these disasters, but insurance against termite damage is almost impossible.

Termites can be found in almost every state as well as Mexico and parts of Canada. In Tennessee, the Eastern Subterranean Termites is the most prevailing and widest distributed threat. They normally live below ground and may move up into a dwelling, damaging wooden support beams, cabinets, doors – all the way into a attic structure.

Common Signs of Termite Infestation

  • Termites build earth-colored “shelter” tubes from the ground to the wood they are feeding on.
  • Wall cracks and/or blistered areas are found on walls, floors, window frames, joist, and wall studs.
  • Piles of wings and seed-like pellets lying around indicate reproductive termites swarms - typically found in the spring.
